Canakkale
Jazz Bar / Cafe
Architecture | Concept Project
This project is a jazz bar concept designed on a plot with a beach view in a coastal district of Çanakkale.
The core idea of the design is to strike a balance between the material language of nature and the nostalgic atmosphere of classic jazz culture.
*Designed as a concept project within the scope of undergraduate studies.
The exterior shell of the building features natural stone, dark-colored wood materials, and a wooden roof, creating a harmonious, simple yet strong architectural language with the surrounding environment. Microcement and white gravel stones are used for the flooring, providing a modern and airy ground layout to the space.
One of the most striking features of the design is the building's placement on a sloping site. This slope has been integrated into the design, creating a natural rhythm with small waterfalls and pools that allow the water to flow from top to bottom along the terrain.
In the interior, leather fabrics, table lighting, and red neon signs on the walls bring the classic jazz bar spirit into the space, while the bar's massive carved from raw stone adds a modern and sculptural contrast to this atmosphere. This contrast serves as a visual reference to both the multi-layered structure of jazz culture and the intimate relationship with nature.
