Bale and Latin Dance Academy
Interior Architecture | Concept Project
Located within the vibrant fabric of Ortakoy, the academy creates a stage for the free expression of art and the body amidst modern city life.
The architectural language, in harmony with the rhythms of ballet and Latin dance, is shaped around the concepts of transparency, fluidity, and dynamism.
*Designed as a concept project within the scope of undergraduate studies.
In the holistic design of the space, warm shades of red, derived from the energy of Latin culture, stand out as a defining character. Colored glass surfaces and transparent panels allow daylight to filter through the space in varying tones, making the interior experience vibrant and dynamic.
he program is composed of cultural spaces such as a library, digital art exhibition, temporary exhibition area, and costume exhibition, balanced with practical spaces like music rooms and dance studios, creating a harmonious rhythm. The performance hall transforms into the stage where choreographies come to life, while the costume design workshop supports the creative process. The terrace and relaxation areas are designed as places where the body and mind can rejuvenate with short breaks.
The use of microcement on the floors presents a minimalist and contemporary character, while glossy lacquer surfaces add fluidity and lightness to transition areas. Terrazzo tabletops, with their colorful texture, bring rhythmic dynamism to the space.
Colorful and transparent glass panels filter light in varying tones, creating an ever-changing atmosphere throughout the day. Matte wall surfaces in the dance studios and the warm wooden textures in areas such as the library soften the rhythm of the space.
The material language balances the academy's disciplined structure with the free spirit of art.
